Trading Volumes in March 2009 and from April 2008 through March 2009

　In March 2009, the trading volume of Three-month Euroyen futures was 1,221,320, decreasing 40.2% in comparison to that of the prior year comparable month, and increasing 34.1% in comparison to that of the prior month, and the average daily volume was 58,158. The trading volume of Options on Three-month Euroyen futures was 4,056, decreasing 96.9% in comparison to that of the prior year comparable month, and increasing 292.3% in comparison to that of the prior month. The trading volumes for the put options and call options are 1,000 and 3,056, respectively, and the average daily volume was 193. See the table 1 for the composition of the trading volumes.

　 The total trading volume of Exchange Forex Margin contracts (Click 365) was 5,304,830, increasing 69.7% in comparison to that of the prior year comparable month, and increasing 18.6% in comparison to that of the prior month, and the average daily trading volume was 241,129. 　 The total trading volume in March 2009 was 6,530,206, increasing 23.2% in comparison to that of the prior year comparable month, and increasing 21.3% in comparison to that of the prior month, and the average daily trading volume was 299,480.

Total Trading Volume from April 2008 through March 2009

From April 2008 through March 2009, the trading volume of 3-month Euroyen futures was 18,584,732, decreasing 47.4% in comparison to that of the prior year, and the average daily trading volume was 75,856. The trading volume of Options on Three-month Euroyen futures was 678,197, decreasing 80.4% in comparison to that of the prior year. The trading volumes for the put options and call options are 392,440 and 285,757, respectively. The trading volume of Interest Rate etc. Financial Futures Contracts was 19,262,929, decreasing 50.3% in comparison to that of the prior year, and the daily average was 78,624.

In addition, the total trading volume of FX Daily Futures contracts (Click 365) from April 2008 through March 2009 was 48,334,039, increasing 37.0% in comparison to that of the prior year, and the average daily trading volume was 191,139. See the table 3 for the composition of the trading volumes.
